Auricular Acupuncture

Restore Balance and Harmony

Auricular acupuncture is a gentle therapy that stimulates specific points on the ear, which is considered a microsystem of the whole body. Each point corresponds to organs, systems, or functions and connects with the body’s meridians—the energy pathways that influence health and balance. By placing fine needles, seeds, or small beads on these points, practitioners help restore the smooth flow of energy (qi), supporting stress relief, pain management, better sleep, and overall well-being.

  • Sessions are about 45 minute long and include gently placing 5 thin pins in your ear.

You will be in a comfortable position that works best for you. There are anti-gravity chairs, lounge chairs, and some people chose to lay on yoga mats with blankets and props.

Joyce plays gentle music and provides reiki while the needles do their work.

  • Auricular acupuncture works by stimulating points on the ear that connect with the body’s meridians and nervous system, helping restore balance and promote natural healing. It offers a wide range of benefits for both general wellness and clinical support, including:

    • Stress reduction & relaxation – calms the nervous system and eases tension

    • Pain management – supports relief from headaches, back pain, arthritis, and chronic pain conditions

    • Improved sleep – encourages deeper, more restorative rest

    • Emotional balance – helps reduce anxiety, irritability, and low mood

    • Digestive & metabolic support – aids appetite regulation and digestive health

    • Overall energy & well-being – promotes harmony and balance in the body’s energy flow (qi)

    Clinical Applications:
Auricular acupuncture is also used in medical and therapeutic settings as a complementary treatment for:

    • Addiction recovery (including smoking cessation, alcohol, and drug support programs)

    • PTSD and trauma care

    • Support during detoxification

    • Weight management programs

    • Adjunct therapy for anxiety and depression

Many people find it to be a gentle yet powerful practice—effective on its own or as a complement to other healing modalities.

  • Meet Joyce

Yoga and Pilates Instructor, Healer, Mother

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I began teaching gentle and Restorative Yoga. I truly love all forms of yoga and mindfulness. They help me to find balance, harmony, and joy - while having fun in the process. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy listening to audiobooks, experimenting with (healthy?) dessert recipes and staying close to family. These simple pleasures and our time together in class, keep my heart full.
